Coyoacan copy (WordPress_72dpi)

Last February, I had the opportunity to take an afternoon and enjoy lunch at one of the open-air restaurants in Coyoacán. Weekends are a particularly good time to experience and watch locals who gravitate to Jardin Centenario; a garden and park area in front of the Temple and Ex Convent de San Juan Bautista. Watching people is a wonderful pastime, especially when one has a camera to capture the moments. This gentleman was ambling through the crowds in front of the restaurants asking for handouts. No one paid him any mind, nor was he provided with the change for which he was asking – he seemed to showed no emotion one way or the other. As he walked along past the table at which we were seated, I caught a few photographs. As I filed through the images, I selected a couple that I thought were suitable and unable to decide on one (I usually let image marinate for a while before I make any selections). Undecided on which image best captured the emotion of his plight, I selected two and placed  them together – I thought it made for a more compelling image than just a single shot. I hope you like the result…..
